GreenConnect Carers Join Dementia Australia’s EDIE Virtual Reality Training to Better Understand Dementia
Story by Catherine Hyett, Project Manager
At GreenConnect, we’re really proud to work alongside other organisations. A number of our GreenConnect carers recently attended an EDIE session, hosted by Dementia Australia. EDIE sessions utilise virtual reality to allow carers a greater understanding of what it’s like to live with dementia.
Under the guidance of Olivia from Dementia Australia, our carers could then swap ideas and strategies for the various challenges that can arise when caring for someone living with dementia.
Connection and support from others is vital to reduce the isolation that can come with being a dementia carer. Our goal at GreenConnect is to do all we can to create a sense of community and connection for those living with dementia, as well as dementia carers, in Bendigo and Mildura.
We encourage any carers who may be interested in attending an EDIE session to contact Dementia Australia or GreenConnect for more information.
GreenConnect: Building Community and Connection
GreenConnect is dedicated to providing meaningful, enjoyable experiences for individuals living with early to mid-stage dementia and their carers. Our nature-based activities for people with dementia in Mildura and Bendigo offer participants a chance to relax, foster friendships, and enjoy a sense of belonging in a safe and supportive environment.
