For Providers

Refer your clients to a Dementia Support Group that builds connection and confidence

What is GreenConnect?

GreenConnect is a free, government-funded dementia support group for people living with early to mid-stage dementia and their carers — offered in community settings outside of residential aged care.

Through nature-based group activities, participants spend time together in relaxed environments – enjoying a cuppa in a garden, heading out on scenic trips, and taking part in shared experiences.

The program supports social connection and helps reduce isolation, with a consistent group setting where participants and carers are supported together.

We work closely with health professionals, aged care services and support providers across the Loddon Mallee region to ensure referrals are straightforward and participants feel welcome from day one.

What makes GreenConnect different?

Nature-based group support

Participants and their carers enjoy relaxed activities together in outdoor settings, such as garden mornings, scenic outings, and community gatherings.

Run by trusted local teams

Coordinators in Mildura and Bendigo lead the sessions with support from a consortium of partners including Princes Court, Heathcote Health, Rural Care Australia, and La Trobe University.

No cost to participants

GreenConnect is funded by the Australian Government, with activities, refreshments, and short-term accommodation provided where appropriate.
