Morning Tea & Garden Train Tour at the Australian Inland Botanic Garden
Join us for a GreenConnect outing at the beautiful Australian Inland Botanic Garden in Mourquong. This event combines a relaxed morning tea with a guided tractor-train tour of the gardens — a gentle and enjoyable experience designed for people living with dementia and their carers.
Start Your Day at 10am
Meet us at the breezeway between the Café and Magenta Wool Shed, located close to the carpark for easy access. You’ll be welcomed with tea or coffee and freshly made scones with jam and cream (GF and DF catered for). It’s the perfect chance to enjoy conversation and connection before setting out to explore.
Explore the Gardens by Train
At 11am, we’ll hop aboard the tractor-train for a volunteer-led tour of the gardens. Along the way, you’ll see breathtaking scenery including the heritage-listed WOW Tree, stands of Quandong trees with their bright red fruit, the lake, rose gardens, and the Sturt Desert Pea area cared for by long-time volunteer Gwen.
What to Bring
Please bring your own water bottle, sun hat, and (if you’d like) a cushion to sit on for the train ride. Accessible toilets are located nearby.
About the Venue
The Australian Inland Botanic Garden is a volunteer-led community treasure, showcasing native and exotic plantings across 150 hectares. With its heritage trees, rose gardens, and peaceful spaces, it’s a wonderful backdrop for a morning of connection and discovery.
