What is GreenConnect?
GreenConnect Dementia Respite Project is an innovative-first for the Loddon-Mallee region.
GreenConnect is a 3-year, not-for-profit pilot Project designed to create innovative solutions for dementia respite care.
The Project delivers a new type of respite care: nature-based activities, experiences and accommodation all within dementia-inclusive environments.
The Project targets carers and people who are in the early stages of dementia. It responds to gaps in current short- and long-term respite services and day activities by providing support and respite experiences outside aged care facilities, tailored to individuals’ needs. Participants will have opportunities to provide feedback to assist improving future services.
Who’s behind the Project?
A Consortium of like-minded organisations have joined together to enhance respite services for people with dementia and their carers through immersion in natural environments and green spaces. The Project will be rolled out across the Loddon-Mallee Region from Bendigo and Heathcote to Mildura and Merbein.
The Consortium receives strategic direction from a Steering Group who collaborate to build strong relationships and communication between the Consortium and the community, sharing skills and knowledge.
